AS MICHAEL BUBLÉ RE-RELEASES HIS MULTI-PLATINUM SEASONAL ALBUM, WE TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT THIS TIME OF YEAR MEANS TO HIM

For many, the festive season only begins when they put on Michael Bublé’s album, Christmas, and hear him crooning Santa Baby. It’s become the UK’s biggest Christmas album of the century and his cover of Perry Como’s It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas remains Spotify’s most-streamed Yuletide song. And for Michael, the compilation has a special place in his heart.

“Knowing I’ll be invited into people’s homes for such an important holiday, it’s a big deal to me. It’s a huge honour. I’m really sentimental about that holiday,” said Michael, who re-released the album as a Super Deluxe Edition last month, featuring seven additional songs, to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

In fact, what motivated him to pursue a career in music was listening to wonderful Christmas melodies when he was a child.

“I was three or four, and my mother would have a Bing Crosby record playing… It was my introduction to jazz, harmonies, melodies, musicianship and emotion,” he said.

But Michael isn’t just “Mr Christmas” – he has sold over 75 million records, holds four Grammy Awards and has amassed a net worth of more than £48 million.
