Emma's Become The Belle Of The Ball
People Magazine South Africa|April 14 - 27, 2017

WATSON opens up about her leading role in the remake of a Disney classic.

Emma's Become The Belle Of The Ball

FROM Hermione Granger in Harry Potter to her latest role as Belle in Beauty And The Beast, Emma Watson can’t resist a little fantasy in her life.

Having found fame as one of the stars of JK Rowling’s magical world, the Brit beauty is continuing to prove she is more than just a pretty face with some diverse roles since graduating from university.

Now, at 26, she is back in the fantasy realm having already achieved more than many performers twice her age. A graduate of English Literature, fully certified to teach yoga and meditation, Emma is using her fame to champion the cause for her fellow females through her role as UN Goodwill Women Ambassador, launching the successful HeForShe campaign.

She has also used her bookworm background and tech savvy to inspire people to read across the globe with her online feminist book club Our Shared Shelf. Even as she embarks on a traditional role as a Disney princess, Emma can’t help but tap into the feminist qualities of Belle and even turns the tables by suggesting that she should have played Beast instead of her co-star, former Downton Abbey heatthrob Dan Stevens. As we look forward to the live action adaptation of Beauty And The Beast, Emma reveals her love for all things Disney, how her red carpet fashion choices are saving the planet and why she compares herself to an English pot of tea...
