Sumita Chakraborty flies through the azure blue skies to mystical Amritsar and soaks in the amazing sights, sounds and the sinfully delicious local cuisine.

Amritsari Magic

A trip to Punjab’s Amritsar - the land of the magnificent Golden Temple and Jalianwala Baug - and, of course, an opportunity to gorge on the famous Amritsari aloo ka paratha, sarso da saag, kulcha… sounded absolutely divine. So when Vistara Airlines flew us in an all-women’s group to the holy city of Amritsar, we were obviously excited - more so as this was Vistara’s inaugural flight to Amritsar.

The trip started on a high – we reached the very luxe Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport and met up with a huge contingent of women. With so many women around, the group was buzzing with sorority sisterhood, much laughter and excitement.

WOMEN POWER

At the stroke of nine, boarding was announced and we settled down comfortably into the premium economy seats that had more leg space and could be pushed back a lot more. Incidentally, the pilot, co-pilot and the entire crew were women... so it was a celebration of women power all the way.
