Blue Ivy A STAR in the MAKING

Her parents might form one of Hollywood’s most influential power couples, but make no mistake, Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s daughter Blue Ivy Carter is already forging her own path in the world of music. The 9-year-old became the second-youngest person ever to win a Grammy Award when her mum scooped the Best Music Video honour for ‘Brown Skin Girl’ – which Blue had lent her vocals to and also appeared in – on March 14.

But it’s not the only accolade she has landed in recent months. Blue’s efforts on ‘Brown Skin Girl’ have also seen her win a NAACP Image Award, a BET Award, and a Soul Train Award. Not bad for someone who hasn’t even been alive for a decade!

It’s clear Blue was destined for stardom from the very beginning. She was first credited on one of her parents’ tracks at just 10 days old – with her rapper turned-music-producer father, 51, recording the sound of Blue crying following her birth to use on his song ‘Glory’. She’s since lent her vocals to five of their solo tracks.
