Even before she was one of the biggest pop acts on the planet, Sabrina Carpenter had a hack for scoring VIP treatment thanks to a family connection to The Simpsons star Nancy Cartwright.

“She didn’t do it all the time but there were a couple of times where we couldn’t get a table at a restaurant and she was like, ‘Hey man, I’m Bart Simpson, what the hell’s going on?’” the singer, 25, spilled to Capital FM back in 2021. “My whole life, that was the coolest thing in the world. I wasn’t even really allowed to watch the show until I was a little bit older, but yeah, the woman is a woman of many talents, not just Bart; she always blows me away.”

Cartwright, 66, who says her father was married to Carpenter’s grandmother and refers to the singer as her “niece”, has been impressed with Carpenter’s determination since observing her as a little girl with a dream.
