Megan Hess: Her Stylish Career

In an industry that many dream of but few succeed, Australian fashion illustrator Megan Hess has risen to the very top. The client list for the world-renowned artist reads like a who’s who of the fashion and entertainment industries, boasting names like Louis Vuitton, former US First Lady Michelle Obama and Gwyneth Paltrow.

And while Hess’ signature timeless black ink drawings inspire artists around the world, she draws her inspiration from famed fashion designer Coco Chanel.

“I’ve been inspired by Coco’s story since I was a little girl,” Hess tells WHO. “To think she was an orphan who came from nothing and went on to become one of the most successful designers in the world. I have always admired her for the way she pulled up her bootstraps and never let anything stand in the way of her dreams, no matter how impossible they must have felt.”

And it was taking inspiration from Chanel – and refusing to give up – that eventually led to Hess’ big break.
