WATCH DOGS 2

How I hacked a car then ran over a dog that wasn’t watching.

WATCH DOGS 2

Watch Dogs 2 seems to be borrowing a little of Saints Row’s anarchy, and that’s a good thing. I got to play it at E3 this year, and the slightly cheekier tone just about let me forgive all the hacktivist banter that I’m at least five years too old not to wince at. Ubi’s avowed intent to let us choose our own approach to its sandbox missions seems sincere, too.

After Ubisoft showed off a story mission, in which new protagonist Marcus Holloway breaks into a penthouse using a crane, I got to sample some of the open-world side missions set on the vast San Francisco map. This landmass is at least twice as big as Chicago, and encompasses Oakland, Marin County (I hope Skywalker Ranch is in there) and the Bay itself, which you can cross in a boat.
