EPISODES 1.01-1.10 What a treat for ’90s kids, to be gifted a remake of Sabrina. And not a conventional one, but one steeped in horror, where witches are handmaidens to Satan, covens dine on human flesh and a young woman must pledge herself to the Dark Lord.

Unfortunately the series sounds far better than it actually is. Like Sabrina herself, it’s caught between two worlds, not knowing what it wants to be. Is it dark occult horror or Goosebumps for teens? It’s too adult to have a talking cat, yet too childlike to ever use a naughty word. And for a series with “adventures” in the title, there are few thrills to be had, with episodes that stretch to an hour long and weighty plots that suck up all the potential fun.
