BREAKING DAD

MONDAY / ITV / 8PM / EP 3 of 6 / TRAVELOGUE

1 PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE

BRADLEY: Normally if I’m on set or even in rehearsal for plays, I say, ‘Let’s get going,’ because I want to get things moving all the time. But Barney is more laid-back, so I’ve learnt to be more patient and to go, ‘OK, that will happen then and that’s fine.’ You can learn all sorts from your children. Parents are supposed to teach their kids but there’s a lot to be said for the other way around. I really believe that.

2 BE BRAVE

BARNEY: I’ve learnt courage from Dad and how to deal with fear. As Breaking Dad’s gone on, I’ve seen him swallow his fear more. There’s a big difference from series one to series three. Now, despite his fear, Dad’s going, ‘Right, come on, let’s do it.’ At first, it took him a lot of words of encouragement but now the words of encouragement are in his own head. He’ll go, ‘OK, I can do this.’
