BAFTA TV AWARDS
NEW SUNDAY, 6 PM, BBC1 AWARDS
Dust off your posh frocks and tuxedos as the crème de la crème of the TV world celebrate another year of small-screen successes at the 2022 BAFTA TV Awards this Sunday.
Hosted by Richard Ayoade for the third consecutive year, the ceremony will take place at London's Royal Festival Hall and is the first in-person edition since 2019.
'Tickets sold out in record time - there is such an enthusiasm to gather and celebrate', says Sara Putt, deputy chair of BAFTA.
Once again, the Drama Series category is set to be one of the most hotly contested, with In My Skin, Manhunt: The Night Stalker, Unforgotten, and Vigil in the running.
Meanwhile, David Thewlis (Landscapers), Hugh Quarshie (Stephen), Olly Alexander (It's a Sin), Samuel Adewunmi (You Don't know Me), Sean Bean (Time), and Stephen Graham (Help) are vying for the Leading Actor title.
Too Close stars Denise Gough and Emily Watson are competing for Leading Actress, alongside Jodie Comer (Help), Kate Winslet (Mare of Easttown), Lydia West (It's a Sin), and Niamh Algar (Deceit).
Elsewhere, the recently ended Holby City is up against sister show Casualty as well as Coronation Street and Emmerdale in the Soap & Continuing Drama category.
Many of this year's nominees got the party started early at a glitzy launch event held at the Sea Containers Hotel in London - and a lucky TV Times was invited along to chat to the stars as they walked the red carpet to find out how they feel to be in the running...
