Who’d be a teacher, eh? A noble profession it may be, but it comes with bags of aggro, as Daniel is reminded when pupil Max accuses him of sleeping with Summer. One wouldn’t blame him if he decided to pack the whole thing in and do something completely frivolous for a living, like writing about telly.
Daniel’s extracurricular activities with Summer have, of course, been limited to him helping her with her University of Oxford application. Not that she doesn’t wish there were more to it.
