CORONATION STREET
MONDAY, WEDNESDAY & FRIDAY, 8PM, ITV SOAP
It was a truly iconic Corrie episode when Tyrone and Fiz reunited, giving us tears, laughter and a glorious karaoke moment courtesy of Evelyn and Mimi.
But while Ty's relationship with Alina is now just a memory, he and Fiz have a new thorn in their side in Fiz's husband of half an hour, Phill, who wants to reconcile with the knicker stitcher but is unaware she's already taken.
Here, in a TV Times exclusive, Alan Halsall, 39, and Jennie McAlpine, 38, who play Ty and Fiz, reveal their joy at being back together at No.9 and their hopes for the future...
It was a beautiful moment when Fiz told Tyrone on her wedding day that she had left Phill and he was the man she loved. Were you moved when you read the scripts?
JENNIE There are a few scripts where I go straight to the end to see how it finishes, and this was one of them. So the first scene I read was where Fiz knocks on No.9 and says to Tyrone, 'I love you.' Did I cry? Yes, I did!
ALAN I didn't cry, but I was thrilled to see the moment they're back together. Even though Fiz says, 'I love you,' and we all know that Tyrone absolutely loves Fiz, there was still that bit of humour where he said, 'I'm in the middle of watching something - can you come back tomorrow?!' I thought it was really beautiful.
Have viewers generally been on Team Tyrone or have some been on Team Phill?
JENNIE About 99.9% of people have been Team Tyrone: 'Come on, he didn't mean it,' or, 'He made a mistake, poor lad' - that's mainly what I've been getting in the supermarket!
