Working with a partner can prove challenging for many couples, but for Stephen Graham and his wife Hannah Walters, starring together in BBC1’s Time has been a treat.
The drama, which concludes this week, has seen the actors explore every emotion in their roles as prison officer Eric McNally and his wife Sonia after Eric started smuggling contraband items into jail to protect their son David (Paddy Rowan), who is serving time in another facility.

How did you both come to land roles in Time?
HANNAH I read everything before Stephen! I was blown away. Maybe I did see myself as Sonia, but I just said to Stephen, ‘Whoever plays Sonia, they’ve got to be real in this part.’ But I didn’t want to put myself forward.
