Joanna Lumley on the thrill of hosting The BAFTAs and the advice passed on by Stephen Fry…
NEW CEREMONY
The BAFTAs
SUNDAY / BBC1 / 9.00PM
Effortlessly elegant, witty and charming, Joanna Lumley is surely the perfect choice to take over as host of this year’s BAFTAs, after Stephen Fry announced he was stepping down.
And although we associate her with iconic TV roles, such as Patsy in Absolutely Fabulous and Purdey in The New Avengers, Joanna, 71, is also quite the film buff.
When TV Times meets her at London’s Savoy hotel for tea, she’s keen to make sure we’ve seen all of this year’s big films – even the ones that aren’t in cinemas yet!
Effervescent with excitement about the new job, here Joanna reveals what we can expect while she’s in charge…
