THE VOICE KIDS
LAST ONE SAT / ITV / 7.20PM / EP 8 of 8 / ENTERTAINMENT
Our aspiring performers have done all they can to impress the superstar coaches, and now it’s time for viewers to decide which of the four remaining singers will win The Voice Kids. But, for this year’s final of the talent contest, things will look a little different…
To adhere to strict COVIDsecure guidelines, for the first time in the ITV show’s history, the final has been pre-recorded, and viewers will notice other significant changes, too!
The famous red chairs of coaches Paloma Faith, Danny Jones, Pixie Lott and will.i.am will be spaced further apart and there will be no studio audience.
However, in an exciting twist, a special audience – picked from viewers who applied online – watched the final from home as it was being recorded and they will crown the winner, who will receive a £30,000 bursary towards their musical education and a family holiday to Florida’s Universal Orlando Resort once travel restrictions ease.
After winning with his act Sam Wilkinson last year, Danny – singer and guitarist with poprock band McFly – is hoping to make it two in a row with his protégé, 10-year-old rocker George, who will be going up against Team Paloma’s Dara, 12, Team Pixie’s Justine, 13, and Team Will’s Victoria, seven.
TV Times chatted to Danny, 34, ahead of the recording to find out what to expect...
