STRICTLY COME DANCING
SAT & SUN / BBC1 / TIMES VARY / ENTERTAINMENT
Dust off your top hat and tails, and settle back for an evening of glitz and glamour as our remaining Strictly couples get ready to tread the boards in Musicals Week!
The annual showstopper celebrates the best of Broadway and the West End, and McFly star Tom Fletcher and his professional dance partner, Amy Dowden, are hoping they’ll be among the stars tripping the light fantastic.
During a break in training at Elstree Studios, Tom, 36, and Amy, 31, join TV Times for an exclusive video interview, where they reveal why musicals hold a special place in their hearts and how they’ve become like family...
Tom, how has your Strictly experience been so far?
TOM It’s been quite an adventure! It’s been way more fun than I thought it was going to be. I knew I would enjoy it, but it’s just addictive and you don’t want it to end.
Someone said that on [Strictly’s companion show] It Takes Two – it’s not that you want to win or lose; you just don’t want to leave!
It’s Musicals Week this Saturday – do you like musicals?
TOM I grew up going to theatre school, so musical theatre is my entire childhood. When I was seven, I went to see Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and it just blew my mind.
