Top of the Shop with Tom Kerridge

TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY / BBC2 / 8PM

Tom Kerridge is convinced there’s a food entrepreneur lurking in every kitchen across the land.

‘How many times have you made a much-loved family recipe and thought, “I could sell this?”,’ asks the Michelin-starred TV chef. That’s the question Tom poses in his latest BBC2 competition, Top of the Shop with Tom Kerridge.

Harnessing the UK’s growing interest in artisan food, he’s invited amateur food makers to bring their homemade wares into a working farm shop in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.

From smoking meat to handmade cheeses and chocolates, contestants must leave their safe, cosy kitchens and convince customers to part with their hard-earned cash.

They’ll also have to impress expert artisan judges Nisha Katona and Alison Swan Parente with the tastiest, most popular and most marketable product being awarded the coveted ‘Best Up-and-Coming Artisan’ title.

Here Tom, 44, tells TV Times more…
