‘Nothing is as it seems!'

After five weeks of heartwrenching twists, shocking revelations and beard watching to navigate two-time frames, the scene is set for a dramatic conclusion to the final series of BBC1 thriller Baptiste.

Now that dogged French sleuth Julien Baptiste (Tchéky Karyo) and British Ambassador to Hungary Emma Chambers (Fiona Shaw) have worked out the identity of terrorist Gomorrah, the race is on to stop another attack – and they need ex-cop Zsófia Arslan’s help to convince the police of their suspicions.

With fan favourite Zsófia once again in the thick of the action, TV Times decided to catch up with Hungarian actor Dorka Gryllus, who plays her.

Dorka grew up in Budapest, Hungary, where the series was filmed and is the daughter of well-known parents – a musician and a theatre director. While she’s a big star in her home country, we’re only just getting to know her over here in the UK.

Here, in an exclusive interview, Dorka, 48, reveals if Zsófia could make a comeback in her own spin-off and whether this weekend’s big finale will answer all our questions…

We’re excited for the finale of Baptiste! What can you tell us about the final episode?

Nothing is as it seems! I watched the last episode yesterday, because I’m in Hungary and can’t watch it live. Even for me, as one of the actors involved, it was very hard to watch it. I was crying out, ‘Oh my God!’
