Fans of Line of Duty and Bodyguard are in for a treat as the makers of those tension-packed dramas have come up with a new nerve-jangling thriller that explodes onto our screens this week.

Suranne Jones heads a stellar cast as DCI Amy Silva, who is tasked with investigating a suspicious death aboard multi-million-pound Trident nuclear submarine HMS Vigil and in the process gets dragged into a dark conspiracy that threatens Britain’s national security.

Amy believes the death could be connected to the mysterious disappearance of a Scottish fishing trawler, but with secrecy critical to HMS Vigil’s mission, the sub can’t return to port and the detective must carry out her inquiries on board as its perilous voyage continues…

Meanwhile, back on land, Amy’s colleague and old flame DS Kirsten Longacre (The Good Fight’s Rose Leslie) hunts for more clues, but it’s soon clear that some powerful people are determined to stop her from getting to the truth.

Recently seen in C4’s I Am Victoria, Suranne, who turns 43 on 27 August, tells us more about the six-part drama, which launches with two episodes this week…
