Poor Sarah Platt has tried to accept Bethany&rsquo;s &lsquo;relationship&rsquo; with older man, Nathan, but last week&rsquo;s events were a line in the sand. Having found her daughter drunk and dressed provocatively at Nathan&rsquo;s flat &ndash; and witnessed the teen&rsquo;s outburst when she brought her home &ndash; Sarah&rsquo;s sure Nathan is no good, and this week takes the &lsquo;Sarah&rsquo;s gone from just being uncomfortable about Bethany dating an older man to worrying that there&rsquo;s something really not right about this relationship. She&rsquo;s certainly starting to suspect that Bethany is scared of Nathan,&rsquo; says Tina O&rsquo; Brien, who plays her.<img src="http://magarticles.magzter.com/articles/5483/223387/591c7399e5b94/1495036648914.jpg"" owidth=505 oheight=343" style="width:300px" />&lsquo;Whatever she or Gary say to Bethany gets twisted by Nathan to make them look like the bad guys, so she thinks going to the police is the only option.&rsquo;Soon, a cop calls round at No.8, and Sarah is candid as she tells him about Bethany&rsquo;s controlling boyfriend. But little does she realise that the seemingly sympathetic officer is Neil &ndash; Nathan&rsquo;s friend, who recently coerced Bethany into sleeping with him.Neil promises to talk to Bethany &ndash; and he does, just not in the way Sarah had hoped. He reports back to her and Nathan about Sarah&rsquo;s &lsquo;terrible&rsquo; accusations, and when he then brings Bethany back to the Platts, Bethany tells her mum she wants nothing more to do with her.Sarah&rsquo;s distraught, while Nathan&rsquo;s smug, and capitalises on the situation by suggesting to Bethany that he invite Neil and Ian over so she can show her &lsquo;gratitude&rsquo;. Will Bethany be forced to agree?
