THE TOURIST
NEW NEW YEAR’S DAY & SUNDAY / BBC1 / 9PM / EPS 1-2 of 6 / DRAMA
The stunning Australian outback is the setting for a terrifying journey of discovery in BBC1’s intense psycho-thriller The Tourist.
The six-part series, penned by Liar and The Missing creator's Harry and Jack Williams, sees Jamie Dornan playing a mysterious Brit known only as The Man, who finds himself driving on a deserted road, being chased by a truck. After his car crashes, The Man wakes up in hospital with no memory of who he is.
Kindly local probationary police officer Helen (Unbelievable’s Danielle Macdonald) does her best to help him, and he also forms a bond with diner worker Luci (Line of Duty’s Shalom Brune-Franklin).
But as danger resurfaces, The Man’s mission to learn the truth becomes more urgent….
TV Times joined Northern Irish actor Jamie, 39 – who made his name with hit thriller The Fall – for a video chat to find out more...
How would you describe The Man?
He’s probably made a few wrong turns to find himself in the position where he’s in the outback and people are trying to kill him!
