THE CHOP: BRITAIN’S TOP WOODWORKER

NEW THU / SKY HISTORY / 9PM / EP 1 of 9 / REALITY

He’s usually the sharpest fool on the box, but how much does Lee Mack know about woodworking? We’ll soon find out, as the quick-witted comedian joins the presenting team of Sky History’s new carpentry competition, The Chop: Britain’s Top Woodworker.

Co-hosted by Lee, presenter Rick Edwards and Amazing Spaces craftsman William Hardie, the nine-part series sees 10 of the country’s finest joiners taking part in various challenges to showcase their skills. The winner gets the chance to stage an exhibition of their work at London’s William Morris Gallery.

Each week’s projects are themed around different historical and design styles – from Victorian pub to Gothic bedroom and even a 1960s lounge inspired by the US TV series Mad Men!

Here, Lee, 52, star of panel show Would I Lie to You? and sitcom Not Going Out, tells TV Times more…
