Gratitude It’s probably a word that’s popped up a lot over the past few weeks. Even if you’re not the type to make resolutions, the start of a new year – and a new decade – does spark a bit of reflection, often about the things we’re grateful for.
Perhaps you’ve resolved to practise gratitude daily. It’s a good goal to have – research has shown the benefits of a daily gratitude practice include feeling more positive and energetic, better sleep and a stronger immune system.
But while it’s easy to feel thankful for the good things in your life – the people who love you, a spontaneous hug from your child, a delicious meal – it’s not so easy to feel gratitude when life is challenging.
So here are three tips to help you feel gratitude in those moments when it’s easier said than done.
