Best Furry Friends Forever

It was love at first sight – now Henry and Baloo do everything and go everywhere together.

Best Furry Friends Forever

A DOG and a cat being best friends isn’t that unusual – YouTube videos of canine/feline friendship are practically a dime or dozen. But every now and then one comes along that’s a little more aww-inspiring. And these two tick that box with one big fat pawprint.

Henry the hound and Baloo the Siamese don’t just snooze together: they scale mountains, ford streams and traverse deserts. Yes, this is a dog-meets-cat tale that’s bound to leave you all warm and fuzzy inside.

“I call them brothers but I think Baloo thinks Henry is his mom because he always wants to nuzzle him,” says Cynthia Bennett, their doting owner.

Cynthia, from Denver, Colorado in America, adopted Henry in 2014 when he was about three months old. She initially had her heart set on adopting a golden retriever but changed her mind when she laid eyes on Henry who, at 14 weeks, was already five times bigger than other pups the same age.

“Henry was just sitting there,” Cynthia recalls. “He had these long legs and the body of a wolf or husky.” And as soon as she entered the pen it seems Henry knew she was The One too.

“He just curled up into my lap and went belly up and flipped his head over my arm,” Cynthia says. “I decided there and then he was coming home with us.”
