Cosmo: What is your skincare philosophy?
Aditi Rao Hydari: “Let me start by saying that I am a dermatologist’s nightmare. I go by what I know and what works for me. It is probably because I have been doing it since I was a little girl and that is what I am used to. I feel what goes into your body is going to show on your skin, so eating healthy is crucial.”
C: What’s your skincare routine like?
ARH: “I do not have a skincare routine that I follow 365 days a year. It does not work for me. I pretty much just listen to my skin. I do whatever I need to, according to the weather, according to my schedule, or whatever it is that I feel my skin is craving.”
C: And what is your skin craving at the moment?
ARH: “As I am in Hyderabad right now and the weather is hot and dry, I use a lot of milk on my face. If the weather is humid, then I use aloe vera or sandalwood powder to keep my skin clean...to keep the pores clean. I do things like that, I am a total kitchen baby. Quite often, you will find my purple berry smoothie on my face. Those things just work for me. If I am eating papaya, a bit of it will go on my face. If a tomato is being cut in the kitchen, I will take a little bit and just rub it on to my face. I also use yoghurt, oatmeal, flour, rice powder...pretty much everything I can find in the kitchen.”
C: So you love all things natural, but are there any beauty rules you don’t ever break?
