“Our work is characterised by our love for botanical forms and finding patterns in nature. As much as we love vivid, striking colours and a wild overgrowth where painterly strokes intertwine and get woven together like a tapestry, we also seek out a calm respite in our pieces; rippling, moving gestures rooted in a specific context, creating a whimsical landscape. This work (above) is part of our series exhibited in Sydney last year (March 2019); we painted the entire series on wood panels to give it an organic, ‘resort’ feel, reminiscent of beach houses, then subsequently framed them. This collection speaks of longing, the search for joy and being free in nature.”
