Spinach/Palakya (Spinacia oleracia) is an edible flowering plant in the family of Amaranthaceae that is related to beets and quinoa. The spinach crop during the cooler part of the year is dense in vitamins and minerals and low in calorie and fibre content. This helps prevent constipation and promotes a healthy digestive tract.
