All my learnings or rather I should say my introduction to Karma Yoga philosophy has been at The Yoga Institute while doing my Teachers Training Course (TTC) and then later while conducting some of the yoga classes. In this series, I have blatantly lifted and shared snippets of my conversations with the senior teachers. Most of the learnings and thoughts that I have shared are a ‘copy-paste’ of what I was told by them. In the spirit of practicing the third Yama ‘Asteya’; credit to the teachers for patiently and continuously sharing their learnings with me, be it in the form of deeds or words. My role has just been to bring their teachings into the realm of an article. Also, while it is easy for me to write about the learnings, to walk the talk is a long road ahead and I am still walking.
I held a corporate job in Information Technology for 15 years before I took a sabbatical and then, out of the blue, ended up completing the TTC at The Yoga Institute. While doing the TTC, I would often tell my father, that if only I had done the TTC early on in life, I would have been a different person at my workplace. Probably that is the reason why I am now doing a second stint in the corporate world so that I can see if I walk the talk.
