The Virtue of Forgiveness

A lot of people believe that for a Amisdeed, forgiveness, a divine virtue, can only be given by God. “We are mere humans; we don’t have the power to forgive someone who has hurt us or betrayed us.” But this is not true, and the sooner we realize this, the happier we will be. Everyone is looking for happiness, and increasing numbers are taking to the path of spirituality to reach this goal of happiness. Wise men realize that if we cannot forgive others or ourselves and are unable to detach from the pain and anger, we are stuck.

Forgiveness is the process of letting go. By forgiving, we let go of the hurt and pain we may have inflicted on ourselves by our reaction to an event. Forgiveness is the peace we experience when we are able to release our attachment to past offences or painful incidents.
