Cover drawers

Revive a bland basic with the addition of textured wallpaper. Apply to the fronts of a simple Ikea chest of drawers, adding sleek handles, for a touch of designer chic.

Give it a twist…..

Once papered, paint the whole cabinet a dark green or navy to bring it bang up to date

Glam panels

Create a feature wall with a difference by pasting a mural on the wall and then using strips of MDF to create panelling to fix in place over it.

Give it a twist…..

Paint the panelling a darker shade of grey or black, to give the illusion of a view through black steel-framed windows.

Style statement

Run a length of wallpaper from the floor, right over the ceiling and back down the other wall – a true talking point over dinner. Continue the paper over cornicing and even skirting boards for added impact.
