Having worked with interior designer Sue Bond on three previous projects, the owners of this Kalk Bay townhouse kept their brief simple. After visiting Sue’s Clifton villa, they said: “We’ll have this, thank you!”
Then they departed on one of their adventures and left Sue in charge. “They didn’t ask to see a thing – not a roll of wallpaper, a throw or a cushion – before they returned from their travels,” recalls Sue. “It turned out to be one of my favourite projects.”
With her outgoing personality and positive attitude, Sue is a seasoned intuitive and has worked both locally and overseas; she lived and worked in Hong Kong for four years when her husband was transferred there. “I prefer to work organically, not committing to mood boards. I can see the completed interior and layers of detail in my mind and know instinctively what needs to be done,” she says.
