It's All In The Preparation

Liam Henderson would love to play in every Celtic game but he’s ready to wait if it makes him a better player.

It's All In The Preparation

LIAM Henderson has had to bide his time for games this season but he’s far from discouraged by his current rate of progress in Paradise.

The 20-year-old, who spent a profitable 12 months on loan at Hibernian last season, helping the Easter Road side to a historic Scottish Cup victory, returned to Celtic in the summer determined to fulfil his ambition of becoming a fixture in the first team.

His hunger to achieve that difficult goal is palpable, so frustration may have been the expected response given he has only made a handful of appearances for the champions. Not so.

Sure, he craves match action like any footballer yet he knows that he’s becoming a more complete player each passing day under the guidance of Brendan Rodgers.

This positive attitude and ability to implement the manager’s instructions in matches is gradually pushing the talented midfielder up the pecking order, underlined when he made his UEFA Champions League bow recently as a substitute away to Borussia Monchengladbach, having started two successive league fixtures towards the end of October.

And ahead of another week of exciting fixtures for the club, Henderson sat down with the View for an exclusive interview where he described his delight at the current state of affairs.

How do you feel the season has gone so far after last term?
