Tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m Judit, a Hungarian who has called Singapore home for the past 20 years; my husband Lim is Malaysian. We’re occasionally accompanied on our climbing trips by our 15-year-old son Hunor.
What do you love about climbing and hiking?
We both grew up near the mountains, so it’s always been a part of our lives. Being surrounded by nature and away from the city – and, of course, enjoying coffee with peanut butter sandwiches on the summit! – are the reasons why we spend most of our holidays climbing mountains.
Where have you loved visiting and climbing?
Our favourite place has to be Central Java with its amazing volcanos! We’ve climbed a few of them, but we love exploring the small settlements in the mountains early in the morning just as much.
For a day trip from Singapore, we often cross the causeway to climb Gunung Pulai in Johor – it’s a great training ground for trail running.
