Tell us about the photo you’ve chosen.
We love this very quirky photograph because it really makes viewers smile. This wild-spirited five-year-old came in with his family for a family portrait, and this image was shot in between outfit changes in the balcony of our heritage studio, in natural light.
Describe the work that went into perfecting the shot.
When shooting a young child, you have to be quick and ready to capture fleeting moments. We become kids ourselves to play with and engage with the children. Dan converted this photo to classic black-and-white during the post-processing stage to retain its classic, timeless mood.
