Tell us about your journey.
Neha: I would describe it as a rather interesting journey exploring an absolutely foreign land. Film industry was absolutely an alien world for me and hence it took a while for me to understand the functioning of this industry and then slowly becoming a part of it. It’s definitely been a long struggle but I look back at this journey with pride and a feeling of self-worth as I have achieved everything that I have, all on my own and on my own terms without any compromises and it's a beautiful feeling.
What apart from talent, good looks and luck is required for a newcomer to make his or her marks?
If you are striving to make it in this business on your own terms without any compromises like me, it's going to be a tough ride trust me. But the one thing that drives me or should drive any newcomer should be belief - faith in your talent and a feeling of self-worth because there is a lot of rejection one has to face with auditions and meetings and you can't let it bog you down. You have to brush it off and keep moving forward, looking for better opportunities.
What do you think about friendships in this industry?
Being an outsider, I feel there definitely are friendships and hence the camps. We, as humans, like working with people that we find comfortable to work with. Even I would want to work with likeminded people. Hence, the friendships and camps. So I feel, yes real friends do exist in the Bollywood industry.
Neha Sharma and Tech.
