Hollywood actress Margot Robbie’s star is shooting into the horological heavens, muses Nicolette Wong

Nicolette Wong
Star Power

SINCE HER STARRING role opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street, Australian actress Margot Robbie has become a household name. The blonde bombshell has impressed both critics and audiences alike with her acting chops, most notably as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad. Her latest role, however, is one she plays off-screen as the new ambassador for Richard Mille.

Richard Mille is somewhat famous for enlisting celebrity ambassadors, having worked with impressive names from action star Jackie Chan to Olympic 400m world record holder, Wayde van Niekerk. It does so, presumably, to tap into the cultural zeitgeist represented by each individual ambassador. No prizes for guessing why Robbie is relevant in today’s cult of celebrity—she did, after all, win the proverbial genetic lottery and was described by Rolling Stone as “the best thing about [the widely panned] Suicide Squad”. Her star doesn’t seem to be fading anytime soon.
