Apple iPhone 8 & 8 Plus
₹ 64,000 ₹ 77,000
₹ 73,000 ₹ 86,000
It has been a decade since Steve Jobs unveiled the first iPhone before a world that was otherwise revolving around slow, physical keypad and resistive touch-based feature phones. And Apple has unveiled the most powerful of their iPhones this year. The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus may look similar to their predecessors, but Apple has hidden some gems within. Since both devices have common basic features, the devices do not warrant separate reviews.
Design and Build Quality
The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are built similar to the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus respectively. The main difference with the previous versions is the glass back, a first on Apple devices, which enables wireless charging. This makes it feel particularly fragile and slippery. The aluminium bezel, lack of a 3.5mm audio jack, dual cameras in the Plus version—all are retained in the new devices. The dual cameras in the 8 Plus are mounted sideby-side as in the 7 Plus. The antenna lines now run along the border of the back glass forming a closed rectangle instead of the pair of curved lines in the 7 and 7 Plus. The iPhone 8 weighs 148g and measures 138.4 x 67.3 x 7.3 mm while the 8 Plus weighs 202g and measures 158.4 x 78.1 x 7.5 mm. Both the devices are splash, water and dust resistant and have IP67 rating. The camera lenses have a sapphire crystal lens cover to protect it from scratches and dents.
