We all know that the threat of climate change is real. Businesses now have to find more innovative and sustainable solutions to tackle this problem. Porsche is doing its part to avert climate catastrophe by focusing on electric mobility and achieving CO2-neutral emissions, aligning with the United Nations’ Paris Agreement goals.
The German carmaker is proactively taking measures to be more sustainable by committing to an ambitious programme to turn itself into a carbon-neutral company by 2030. This involves converting 80 per cent of its vehicles into either electric or plug-in hybrids.
With a long-term goal in mind, Porsche is laser-focused on decarbonization and maintaining a circular economy along its entire value chain. By 2025, Porsche projects that half of all new vehicles sold will run on electric motors.
Leading the charge is the Taycan, Porsche’s first all-electric sports car, signifying the automaker’s commitment towards electric mobility. The brand is conscious that its efforts to go green go beyond producing a zero-emissions vehicle; it is doing all it can to leave no environmental footprint during the production process.
To meet its goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2030, Porsche has mandated its supply chain partners to reduce their C02 emissions. The sports car manufacturer has called on its suppliers to exclusively use renewable energy to manufacture Porsche components as of July 2021. Besides its supply chain, Porsche focuses on reducing CO2 emissions in its assembly plants.
