Roll … Blue? In order to replace the Indianapolis-bound Johnathan Hankins, the New York Giants saw red, crimson to be exact, when they took Alabama DT Dalvin Tomlinson with their second pick of the 2017 NFL Draft, 55th overall.

Round Two: Dalvin Tomlinson

“He was one of the best interviews, we thought, out of the entire Combine,” general manager Jerry Reese said. “He was one of the best guys we interviewed. He’s a New York Giant kind of player.”

Tomlinson exits Alabama with an impressive résumé, one that includes victory in the 2016 College Football National Championship Game. The past two seasons saw Tomlinson break out in Tuscaloosa, as he picked up 94 tackles, 9 pass deflections, and 3 sacks over 29 games.

“I feel like I’m a great pass rusher,” Tomlinson said via conference call. “I haven’t been in the position to show it off a lot. I feel like I’m an even greater run stopper, but I have a very good pass rush game.”
