US-EDUCATED Roshni Nadar Malhotra on Friday took over as Chairperson of $8.9 billion HCL Technologies as her father, billionaire Shiv Nadar, stepped down from the post, passing on the baton to his only child.
Roshni came on the board of HCL Technologies in 2013 and was Vice-Chairperson. She will continue as CEO of HCL Corporation, the holding company for all the group entities.
Shiv Nadar, however, will continue to be the Managing Director of the company with the designation of Chief Strategy Officer, the company said in a statement.
HCL Technologies CEO C Vijayakumar said this was part of the company's succession planning exercise.
Roshni studied at Vasant Valley School in Delhi and graduated from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. She also holds an MBA degree from Kellogg School of Management in USA.
