GO 111 goes, interviews in group I, II posts scrapped

As expected, the Telangana government on Tuesday scrapped GO 111, which was primarily issued for conservation of Himayat Sagar and Osman Sagar, the two drinking water reservoirs catering to Hyderabad, more than two decades ago. The government has decided to annul the GO as it felt it became redundant in the present circumstances.

Hyderabad: Announcing this at a press conference on Tuesday after the state cabinet meeting, chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said green zones and master plans will also be unveiled soon.

“A committee headed by chief secretary with officials from the Telangana State Pollution Control Board and forest department will see to it that the two reservoirs, Musi and Esa rivers are not polluted. The GO annulment will be good news for people of Vikarabad and locals of surrounding villages,” KCR said.

In another key decision, the cabinet also approved scrapping of interviews for Group I and Group II posts.
