1. Get to know the surf spot

Examine the waves, the behaviour of the surfers, and the direction they are facing. This can help you choose the best areas to catch the action.
2. Use the right gear
Having the proper equipment may make a significant difference in your surfing pictures. You'll want to choose a mirrorless or DSLR camera that can handle fast-moving action and has quick autofocus. A water-resistant housing or a waterproof camera bag is also required to keep your equipment safe from the elements.
