User manual
We have reviewed a few laptops that are capable of photo and video editing, but rarely have we got to see one that has been specially made for creative professionals. The Asus ProArt StudioBook 16 offers everything that a photo editor, video editor or design professional needs. This is one of the first laptops in the market that ships with Windows 11 preinstalled.
Design & Build Quality
The ProArt StudioBook H5600 has an aluminium alloy chassis with an antifingerprint coating on the surface along with a matte finish. While the exterior design is quite plain, the bottom offers thick rubber linings to keep the device from slipping. The exhaust area has a thick rectangular band that raises the laptop a few millimetres and leaves some gap for better ventilation. There are additional vents with cooling fins on the three sides.
The laptop has a cushioning band running around the screen that maintains some space between the screen and the keypad. The camera is at its usual position above the screen and has a physical shutter. However, the shutter is actually a rectangular piece of magnetic material and is not physically fixed to the camera assembly. Hence you need to be careful not to let it fall off. Coming to the keypad area, the most important addition is the Asus Dial, which is a shortcut dial that can be customised for various applications. Asus has utilised the extra real estate offered by the device to incorporate a large trackpad with three physical buttons at the bottom that performs the functions of the usual three mouse buttons. The trackpad is compatible with a stylus.
