BOTTOM LINE
The Peloton Heart Rate Band easily connects with the company’s equipment and app—as well as third-party machines and software—to accurately track your pulse and show your heart rate zone at a glance.
If you own a Peloton bike or treadmill and want to get the most out of it, it’s a good idea to connect a compatible heart rate monitor (HRM). Peloton machines work with any third-party ANT+ or Bluetooth monitor—and we now have an armband option from Peloton itself. The Peloton Heart Rate Band uses optical technology to measure your pulse and Bluetooth to connect with any Peloton machine and display your heart rate on screen. The device has five multi-color LED lights on the front to quickly show your heart rate zone at a glance, and it works with third-party gym equipment and apps in addition to Peloton’s own. In testing, the band offered accurate readings and was more comfortable than the company’s chest strap HRM ($49), which it plans to stop selling in the coming months. That makes the Heart Rate Band a good option for dedicated Peloton users as well as for anyone who wants to see their heart rate zone easily while working out.
COMFORTABLE TO WEAR
The Peloton Heart Rate Band is available to purchase as part of various accessory bundles or on its own. In the box, you get the heart rate pod, an armband, a charger, and a USB adapter.
