Home Made On The Range
Airgun World|April 2020
We’ve had a tour of the DIY ranges – now let’s see what targets the Umarex Boys have devised
Home Made On The Range

Following last month’s article about our home ranges, let’s move on to the target options. The obvious one is paper or card targets, normally 14cm roundels to fit into the funnel traps. These are great for disciplined shooting activities to test your zero, grouping and all other fundamental shooting disciplines, but there is a vast array of paper target designs out there, either from your local RFD or on the Internet. From silhouettes to full-drawn animals, zombies, vehicles, and your typical ‘bad guys’, there are plenty for you to try out on your home range.

Our competitions add to the fun of these alternative targets, by giving you a purpose to use your airguns. This is what we at the Umarex Boys Club strive to do – and don’t let the name fool you, the club is open to all genders and manufacturers. Our range of competitions have different paper targets to suit practically any airgun, and even airsoft, that you could own, and they are all available on our competition website www.umarexboysclubcomps.co.uk.

EASY TO FOLLOW

Each competition has its own set of easy-to-follow rules, stating which type of airgun is required and the category for each type of airgun. All these details are filled out on each particular competition’s own scorecard. The ranges for these competitions are mainly 6 yards or 10m, so they’re well suited for home ranges and the targets can be downloaded and printed on A4 paper.
