CELTIC FC Foundation, in collaboration with club sponsor Dafabet, is delighted to announce details of a joint initiative aiding Philippines-based charity, the Tuloy Foundation.
Situated in the Muntinlupa district of the country’s capital, Manila, the Tuloy Foundation aims to empower marginalised and disadvantaged children living in extreme poverty.
Founded in 1993, the organisation primarily works with children aged nine to 18-years-old, and uses a variety of caring, healing and teaching techniques to help participants attain a stake in society.
The Tuloy Foundation welcomes street children who otherwise would face a reality of abandonment, estrangement, abuse and neglect. Many come from dysfunctional families, or from ill, imprisoned or single parents who cannot afford to feed their children let alone send them to school.
This creates complex and systemic difficulties for children, typically leading to poverty, malnutrition, childhood illness and physical and mental underdevelopment.
Combating this, this project will see Celtic FC Foundation and Dafabet invest £20K in a feeding programme operating in the Tuloy Foundation’s target locales – it is anticipated that the initiative will feed 23 disadvantaged children in residential care for a year.
