THE YOUTH INTERVIEW: HARDER, BETTER, FASTER, STRONGER

Kerr McInroy on his return from a torn cruciate ligament and appreciating every minute on the pitch

AT 18-years-old and flying in the Celtic reserves, Kerr McInroy suffered his first-ever injury during a 3-1 Reserve League win over Motherwell last May.

Unfortunately, that injury was a torn anterior cruciate ligament that required surgery and ruled him out of action for almost 10 months.

The one-time captain of Tommy McIntyre’s side returned to action in February, as the Hoops booked a place in the Reserve Cup final, overcoming Hibernian 4-1 in the semis. McInroy then started against Queen’s Park in a 3-0 Glasgow Cup win at Lennoxtown earlier this month, and assisted for team-mate Stephen Welsh with just three minutes on the clock.

Between times, the combative central midfielder has stepped up to first-team training on a handful of occasions, and appreciates his time on the training and matchday pitches more now than ever.

To this end, the View caught up with the fledgling 19-year-old about his time away from the game, his impressive return, and his plans for the future.
