TGI: X, have you reached the so-called ‘rookie wall’ yet?
OX: Honestly, no. I feel great. I had a little ankle issue earlier in the year but I always practiced full and so far, my energy is great.
TGI: You have heard of the rookie wall, right?
OX: Yes I have. Some veterans here told me to be aware, that it hits all rookies like…out of nowhere. But nothing so far. I’m aware of this myth (laughs).
TGI: How do you feel your season is going?
OX: Not bad. There’s a lot to improve on, I’ve had some good moments, some bad. Every day is a learning experience in this league and just when I think I’m starting to figure this thing out, something new pops up.
TGI: Give me an example.
OX: Well, I’ll be used to an opposing tackle’s move, all his techniques. Then come game time, he will do something different and I’ll be like, ‘what did I even study this guy for?’ Just little things like that. Or just when I think I have coach Bettcher’s system down, a new wrinkle is put in, just little things like that.
TGI: Is everything starting to slow down for you?
