Giants seek revenge against hated Birds
The last meeting between these two NFC East rivals was back in September, when the Eagles pulled off another miracle victory against Big Blue. That game, the miracle man was back up kicker Jake Elliott, whose 61-yard field goal with no time left ripped out Giant hearts and paved the way for the Giants’ horrific season. Elliott will now be mentioned in the same breath as Chuck Bednarik, Herman Edwards, and the hated Desean Jackson when discussing this heated rivalry. Even though Elliott was the hero, he would have been an afterthought if the Giants defense did its job and held, not one, but two fourth quarter leads provided by Eli Manning and the offense. Manning played his best game of the year, throwing for 366 yards and two touchdowns. Sterling Shepard, not Odell Beckham, was the Giants’ best receiver, shredding the Eagle secondary for 133 yards and a 77 yard TD. The Eagles come into the game as the hottest team in the league. They are riding the shoulders of their second year quarterback Carson Wentz and hoping to capture their first Lombardi Trophy. These are TGI keys to victory over Philadelphia:
