Regrettably, I wasn’t lucky enough to get my hair cut in the last week before lockdown, but I was fortunate enough to have my brother-in-law rig up an ethernet port in my home office.

Much to the despair of my family, and sausage dogs, this was to signify a momentous return to gaming, the likes of which no hurried garage conversion had ever seen before. At least I’d hoped so.

It’s been several months since I’ve played games with any meaningful passion, and at least a year since I’ve joined the old boys from my Battlefield clan for a few rounds of ‘Sweary McShoot Bang’.

After Battlefield 1 and 5 came along, we all seemed to melt away, some meltier than others. But with no end in sight to the lockdown, and with a decent internet line, I was ready to revive some of the old magic.
